When asked why I volunteer, the answer was quite simple: I’m so blessed!
Eight years ago I volunteered to fill in as a table teacher in my son’s first-grade Sunday School class. I’ve been there ever since. I’m drawn to children, so six-year-olds are a perfect fit for me. You know you’ve arrived when a first-grader invites you to come to their home and “play the Wii” with them, or when they invite you and your “daddy” (a.k.a. husband) to have dinner with them.
I think most of us enjoy having a set responsibility, where others depend upon us. I am blessed to have a bunch of little someones who depend upon me every week. What a life!
