Topic:  "Stewards of Children: Strengthen your organization, keep kids safe"

Child sexual abuse can happen in any setting where there are kids. But research shows that evidence-based training for adults, along with well-informed policy, goes a long way in keeping children safe. This is a proven training and consultation to help communities protect kids from hidden dangers.  Court reporters encounter children in the courtroom and legal setting after abuse has been inflicted upon them:  termination of parental rights hearings, juveniles, etc.  This is an in-depth course about how to detect and look for signs to help abused children and how to react.

Stewards of Children is the only nationally distributed, evidence-based program proven ?to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors.

What are the outcomes of Stewards of Children?

  • Increased awareness of the prevalence, consequences, and circumstances of child sexual abuse
  • New skills for adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse
  • Positive change to organizational policies and procedures
  • Individual commitment to action through personal prevention plan

What are the distinctive features?

  • A three-part DVD Presentation integrating commentary from sexual abuse survivors, experts in the field and other concerned adults all providing practical guidance for preventing and responding to sexual abuse
  • An interactive workbook designed to facilitate discussion, reinforce key concepts, and serve as a resource guide and personal action plan for resolving child sexual abuse
  • A guidebook outlining the Seven Steps needed to protect our children from sexual abuse
  • A Facilitator-led discussion about important issues in sexual abuse prevention and the relevance of these issues within the community and organizations that serve children
